Hi! I’m Anissa Harrison (pronounced “a-NEESH-a”). I’m a designer and front-end web developer with over 15 years of experience in both print and web design. I’ve worked for companies of all sizes including, NBKC Bank, Victorian Trading Company, Universal Engraving, Silpada Designs, and Hallmark Cards.

Not just a designer—I provide ideas and recommendations for your web and marketing strategy, and guide you through every aspect of your project from start to finish.

As a freelancer, I enjoy working with a variety of different businesses, and love to research and learn about new industries. I’m open to small projects, as well as long-term contracts.

Email marketing is a powerful marketing tool that can be used to promote your products and services to potential or current customers. In addition to my experience with web design, I’ve also been responsible for the design and launch of more than 250 e-commerce email blasts per year, as well as maintaining an email list of 300,000+.

I’ve worked with ESPs such as Yesmail, Strongmail, Constant Contact and Mailchimp.

Catalog Design & Print

As an Art Director at Victorian Trading, I was responsible for the creative direction, conception, and design of 17 to 20 retail and wholesale catalogs per year.

Creating an effective visual representation of a brand requires much more than just graphic design. Each spread in a catalog should excite the customer through the use of color, theme and clever product groupings. Each page should tell a story and build brand loyalty, while at the same time, meeting predefined sales goals and generating profits.

When I layout a catalog, I carefully analyze the placement of top sellers and new products, creating a composition that directs the customers’ eye throughout the page using design principles such as contrast, repetition and proximity.

Photography & Art Direction

I earned a B.A. in Photography and Graphic Design from UMKC. While much has changed since the days of film photography, I have spent the last 10 years shooting digital product shots for printed catalogs and web using a DSLR.

I enjoy coming up with ideas for product display and styling scenes using props and scenery to photograph items in a studio or outdoor setting.

Once the shots are complete, I skillfully color correct and optimize the images for print and web.
